The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is seeking the community’s assistance regarding a residential burglary. At approximately 9:55 A.M. on February 12, 2014, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call for a burglary in progress in the 3600 Block of Burton Trail, unincorporated Crystal Lake.
The caller was inside the residence when there was a knock on the door. The caller did not answer the door, and a short time later, the suspect forced entry to the residence. The caller confronted the suspect who immediately left and was last seen running eastbound on Tulip Street. The suspect was described as being a dark skinned male, approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a ski mask and a faded dark colored hooded sweatshirt. “Undersheriff Andrew Zinke would like to remind the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity immediately. We have increased patrols in that area”

Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the offender(s). Crime Stoppers does not use caller ID.
