This is a friendly reminder that the Borough has certain Ordinances in place related to snow to ensure the safety of our children and residents. Please familiarize yourself with the below ordinances.

155-29D:
states residents must clear their sidewalks of any snow and ice. This ordinance ensures the safety of our residents and school children that walk to and from school.
Also make sure paths are cleared to your front entrance so if you have an emergency, police, fire and EMS can safely get inside your home.

155-13:
states the owner or operator of any commercial premises, shopping center and multi family dwellings are responsible for clearing their property of snow within 24 hours after snowfall ceases.

178-1:
There is no throwing, placing or depositing snow or ice which accumulates on private property upon the sidewalks or streets of the Borough of Spotswood.

199-3.E:
states if you live on a designated snow emergency no parking street you are not permitted to park on the street when the snow accumulation is such that it covers the street. The parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic.
