*Press Release* Homicide Detectives Arrest and Book Suspect Oscar Bridges for Murder

On Saturday, February 8, 2014 at approximately 12:45 p.m. San Francisco Police Officers arrested wanted suspect Oscar Bridges in the Mission District of the City of San Francisco. During the course of their investigation Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives received information that Oscar Bridges had ties to the San Francisco area. Detectives contacted the San Francisco Police Department and worked together to identify areas the suspect may have frequented. While searching the Mission District, San Francisco Police Officers recognized the suspect who was walking in the area. They attempted to detain the suspect, who briefly fled before being arrested by officers.

Suspect Oscar Bridges was transported to Norwalk Sheriff’s Station on Monday, February 20, 2014 and booked for murder. He is currently being held without bail.

“The collaboration between multiple law enforcement agencies and collectively sharing information lead Detectives to a swift and positive result with the apprehension of a murder suspect,” said Lieutenant Holly Francisco.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2014, Homicide investigators along with 50 additional Sheriff’s personnel and local agencies conducted a large scale search operation for 54-year-old murder suspect, Oscar Bridges, in the Hollywood Hills above the Greek Theater and Runyon Canyon Park. In addition, deputies contacted local merchants and motel managers looking for leads.

On Wednesday, January 29, 2014 Homicide Detectives held a press conference at Sheriff’s Headquarters seeking the public’s assistance in obtaining any information pertaining to the whereabouts of 54-year-old murder suspect Oscar Bridges. Suspect Oscar Bridges is wanted in connection for the stabbing death of 21-year-old Victim Robert Brewer of Texas that occurred on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 10:40 am in a motel room at the 10400 Block of South Vermont Avenue, unincorporated Los Angeles. Victim Robert Brewer suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suspect Oscar Bridges, a.k.a “Rick” is described as a male black, 6’2, 180 pounds, black dreadlock hair style, brown eyes and is known to frequent motels in the Hollywood/West Hollywood areas and ties to Arizona. He is considered armed and dangerous with an extensive criminal record and is a registered sex offender.
