During the month of January, members of the Simi Valley Police Department’s Special Operations Unit conducted licensing and compliance checks of various massage establishments in Simi Valley. The purpose of the random checks was to insure the businesses were operating within the guidelines set forth by “Title-5, Chapter-15” of the Simi Valley Municipal Code, which sets forth regulations for massage establishments.

During the operation, the following locations were checked and found to be in compliance with State and City licensing requirements:

• West Coast Massage, 1790 E. Los Angeles Avenue
• ABC Health, 1839 Erringer Road
• W&H Massage, 1784 Erringer Road
• VIP Massage, 1864 Cochran Street
• Pacific Health Center, 1910 Hubbard Street
• JJ Massage, 1524 E. Los Angeles Avenue
• Dream Tree Spa, 2515 Royal Avenue
• Simi Spa, 2464 Stearns Street • Mind and Body Therapy, 2513 Tapo Street
• Massage Envy, 1263 Simi Town Center Way
• Elements Massage, 2845 Cochran Street
• Happy Feet Spa, 2870 Cochran Street
• Bella A’More Day Spa & Salon, 2820 E. Los Angeles Avenue

An additional location was checked and found to be out of compliance. SOU Officers entered Royal Acupressure, 1975 Royal Ave #4 and found the owner providing a massage without the proper California Massage Therapy Council certification and an expired business license. The owner, Li Jun Zhang, (F) 58 years old from Simi Valley, was issued a misdemeanor citation. The case will be forwarded to the City Attorney’s office for filing consideration.

There are over 30 locations offering massage services in Simi Valley. The Simi Valley Police Department’s Special Operations Unit will continue to conduct random checks of massage establishments within the community to ensure compliance with state and local laws..
