Corona Police Clear 7 Burglaries

On January 31, 2014, Corona Police Officers responded to the 2800 blk. of Plumwood Cir., regarding a possible burglary. A resident reported seeing two males running from the area with a guitar and get into a black truck. An area check was conducted, but the subjects and a victim were unable to be located.

Approximately three hours later, a resident from the 700 blk. of Redondo Lane called to report two male juveniles who attempted to burglarize a home and were last seen running from the location. As officers checked the area, a black truck was seen leaving.

Officers were able to locate the black truck in the 3400 blk. of Summit Lane. The 17 year old occupant was contacted in the truck and matched the description of one of the males seen in the area of the burglaries.

A search of the truck revealed several items of stolen property. As the officers were conducting the investigation, more 9-1-1 calls started coming in to report past residential burglaries. Through these calls, most victims were able to report to the scene to identify their stolen property.

The suspect, who cooperated during the investigation, identified two additional 17 year old suspects. Additional property was located in all three juvenile’s homes. The three juvenile suspects, who are from Corona, were arrested and admitted to at least seven residential burglaries in the Corona area recently.
