National Weather Service issues Winter Weather Advisory until 7:00 pm Monday, February 3, 2014.

Snow will continue throughout the day and may be heavy at times. Total snow accumulation is expected to be 3-6" with locally heavier amounts possible.

Low temperature: 24 F
Winds 7-10 mph

Snow will have a moderate effect on road conditions throughout the day.

Paper and cardboard recycling collection in Section 5 has been cancelled as DPW crews prepare for plowing operations. There will not be any make up for this collection, though residents may bring their recyclables to the drop off center.

Looking ahead: the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from late Tuesday night (February 4, 2014) into Wednesday afternoon (February 5, 2014).

The Borough’s snow removal trucks will plow each street curb to curb during this snowfall. Residents are urged to make every effort possible to remove your vehicle parked on the street until roads are plowed sufficiently. Your cooperation will greatly increase our public works employee’s abilities to clear the roads of snow and ice in a prompt and timely manner.

Residents are also reminded that a Borough Ordinance prohibits the shoveling, placing, throwing or blowing of snow into or upon any street in Fair Lawn. Please do not shovel, blow, throw or place snow into or upon any street or you be subject to an enforcement violation. The Borough would also like to remind residents that for the safety and welfare of our residents, please attempt to clear snow around fire hydrants and crosswalks.
