ECPD Makes arrests in residential burglary cases.

On Wednesday, January 29, at approximately 10:38 in the morning a resident in the 6700 block of Schmidt Lane called reporting that three males were attempting to burglarize her residence for the second time in two weeks.

A week earlier, she reported that they rang her doorbell, and when she didn't answer the door, they went to her backyard and tried unsuccessfully to get in via a rear door. On that occasion they fled prior to being caught.

Upon arrival on the 29th, responding officers located three suspects still at the scene arrested them for attempted residential burglary. The victim reported that they were the same suspects she saw the week prior.

The subsequent follow up to that arrest also determined that one of the suspects was wanted on an outstanding warrant for residential burglary after he was identified as a suspect in a 2012 burglary of another home in El Cerrito.

All three were booked at the ECPD and transferred to the county jail in Martinez.

The suspects may be involved in even more burglaries in El Cerrito. That aspect of the case is still under investigation.

The ECPD encourages people to do what the resident did in these cases. She saw persons committing a crime and she promptly called the police. Her quick actions prevented them from entering her home and lead to their capture.

Those arrested are identified as follows:

Patrick Phanh 23 years, Oakland
Jamy Xaysana 25 years, Oakland
Kao Saelee 19 years, Oakland
