Full Notification

On January 22, 2014 at approximately 1:29 p.m. a fatal traffic collision occurred in the 1100 Blk. of West Sixth St. involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Melvin Yusi (45 years old of Riverside) was driving his vehicle west bound on Sixth St. at a slow pace when a pedestrian who was standing in the center median lost his balance and fell into the path of Yusi’s vehicle. The pedestrian had just crossed the west bound lanes of Sixth St. between two nearby marked crosswalks with signal lights. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased due to his injuries at Riverside Community Hospital. The name of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of family members.
