Advisory

Larceny of snowblowers CONTINUES to occur on the west side of Norton Shores.

Norton Shores Police Department has continued to see incidents involving the theft of snowblowers from unsecured garages.

NSPD has taken two additional reports of snowblowers being stolen from unlocked garages. Both thefts are believed to have occurred the night of January 17, 2014. In both incidents, garage doors were open when the snowblowers were stolen. The thefts occurred in the 600 block of Aue Rd and the 3500 block of Mohawk. It is believed the suspect(s) are parking down the street and approaching the homes by foot.

NSPD had taken three reports in mid-December involving the theft of snowblowers. The incidents occurred in the 3400 Blk of Hiawatha Dr, 1900 Blk of Bonneville, and 1600 Blk of Ritter Dr. All thefts are believed to have occurred during daylight hours. Two snowblowers were stolen from open garages and the third was stolen from the side of the garage.

Attached is a map of generalized locations of the thefts.

NSPD encourages all residents to secure their snow-blowers inside their garages and to close their garage doors.
