Suspect who threatens to kill deputies is arrested.

On 1/14/2014 at approximately 3:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to an assault with a deadly weapon call on Baird Road in Santa Rosa. Upon arrival deputies contacted a 76 year old victim who stated that he is the landlord of a subject named Anthony Greene. The victim said that Greene threatened him with a knife, demanding he take him to the bank and withdraw him some money. The victim said Greene held the knife about one foot away from his neck and threatened to kill him. The victim said he was able to get out of the house when Greene was distracted and he called the Sheriff’s Office.

After deputies arrived on scene they were able to see Greene through a window holding the knife in his hand. Deputies ordered Greene to drop the knife and come outside. Greene came outside and refused to drop the knife stating he would kill the deputies. After a short period of time while threatening to kill deputies and himself, Greene walked back into the residence refusing to cooperate.

A Deputy who was on scene and is also a trained Hostage Negotiator was able to talk with Greene, eventually coercing Green to put the knife down and surrender to the deputies. Greene who is 23 years old from Santa Rosa was subsequently arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery, attempted kidnapping, elder abuse and terrorist threats. Greene was booked in the Sonoma County jail with his bail set at $101,000.
