Message Van Nuys Homicide Detectives

On January 8, 2014, at approximately 0645 hours, Ramiro Melendez-Lobos, a male Hispanic, 22 years of age, was walking southbound on Cedros Avenue at Delano Street in the City of Van Nuys when an unknown male Hispanic approached and fired at Lobos multiple times. Lobos attempted to flee, but was struck in the arm and torso and immediately fell to the sidewalk and succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.

The suspect ran to a waiting light grey Honda or Acura sedan. The suspect entered the passenger side of the vehicle which then fled the scene westbound on Delano Street.

The weapon used is a 9mm semi-automatic pistol and is outstanding.

Van Nuys Division Homicide Detectives are conducting the investigation and are asking for the public’s help to provide information that might lead to the identity and arrests of the suspects wanted for Lobos’s murder.
