Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Parks Bureau Deputies Arrest Two People for a Robbery at Ted Watkins Memorial Park

On January 2, 2014, at 1:35 PM, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies from Parks Bureau were dispatched to 20th Street at San Pedro, Los Angeles regarding a Sheriff’sTransit Service Deputy detaining a male black adult and a male black juvenile who were suspected of committing a robbery at Ted Watkins Memorial Park located at 1335 E 103rd St, Los Angeles.

The investigation into the robbery revealed that the victim was exercising at Ted Watkins Memorial Park on January 2, 2014, at 8:00 AM., when he was approached by a male black adult and a male black juvenile who demanded his cell phone.  The victim refused to give them his phone. The male adult produced a handgun and demanded the cell phone. The victim gave him the cell phone. Both suspects fled on foot out of the park.

Later in the day both suspects were detained by a Sheriff’s Transit Service Deputy on an unrelated incident. After further investigation it was determined both suspects had committed the robbery at Ted Watkins Memorial Park. The victim’s cell phone was recovered at the scene along with the gun used in the robbery.

The male adult suspect Edwardo Adams a resident of Los Angeles was arrested and booked at Century Sheriff’s Station for robbery and being held on a $50,000 bail.

The male juvenile 16 years of age, a resident of Los Angeles was detained and booked at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall for robbery.
