A Winter Storm Warning issued by National Weather Service. "Advisory" level travel advisory in effect at 12:00am.
A Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service./"Advisory" Level travel advisory will be in effect at 12:00am.
The National Weather Service is advising that near blizzard conditions are expected Sunday night into Monday with winds 25-35 mph, causing poor visibility and extensive blowing and drifting of snow on the roads making travel hazardous. This will be in addition to the sub-zero temperatures and wind chills we are expecting.
For this reason, and after consulting with the President of the Marshall County Board of Commissioners, we have decided to implement an "Advisory" level travel advisory in accordance with Marshall County Ordinance Number 2011-16. An "Advisory" level travel advisory is initiated when routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas of the county because of a hazardous situation. For their own safety, individuals are warned to use caution when travelling on Marshall County Roads. The "Advisory" level will go into effect at 12:00am on Sunday, January 5, 2014. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the impact of the storm and may have to upgrade our travel restrictions accordingly.
Please do not go out unless it is absolutely necessary
