#LASD @TEMLASD Arrest Suspect of Fatal Hit and Run That Occured in Rosemead

On December 29, 2013, at approximately 7:00 P.M., a fatal traffic collision occurred at Greendale Avenue and Marshall Street, in the City of Rosemead. 
 
On December 30, 2013, at approximately 11:30 A.M., the suspect walked into the Temple Sheriff’s Station lobby and turned herself in to traffic investigators. 
 
The suspect is identified as Mrs. Janet Bowman (F/A 32). Temple station traffic investigators recovered the suspect's vehicle, a 2007 Nissan Murano, and it is being held as evidence. 
 
Bowman was subsequently arrested for Hit and Run-Causing Death or Injury, 20001(A) CVC, and Vehicular Manslaughter with Gross Negligence, 192(C)(2) PC. 
 
Bowman was released on December 31, 2013 at 1:44 A.M. after posting a $50,000.00 bond. 
 
Temple Sheriff’s Station Traffic Investigators are handling the investigation and criminal case filing. 
 
Bowman has a future court date set for February 28, 2014, at El Monte Court.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE: 
On December 29, 2013, at approximately 6:20 PM, Temple Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to Marshall Avenue and Greendale Avenue, Rosemead, regarding a hit and run collision involving a pedestrian. 
 
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel. 
 
The hit and run vehicle, a grey sport utility vehicle (SUV), was reportedly traveling without its headlights, westbound on Marshall Avenue at the intersection with Greendale Avenue when it struck the victim. The grey SUV is believed to have sustained damage to the right front driver’s side grill area of the vehicle. The driver continued westbound without stopping, fleeing the scene of the collision. 
 
Sheriff’s detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect and locating the indicated vehicle.
