The National Weather Service has Issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 4 pm on Tuesday until 10 am Wednesday

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM TUESDAY TO 10 AM
CST WEDNESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM TUESDAY
TO 10 AM CST WEDNESDAY.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON OR EARLY
TUESDAY EVENING AND CONTINUE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY
MORNING.

* ACCUMULATION...SNOWFALL OF 3 TO 5 INCHES IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE
ADVISORY AREA THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.

This potential snow will coincide with New Year's Eve celebrations. If you will be out on New Year's Eve, and the forecast comes to fruition, please consider these driving safety tips. Assure that you leave plenty of time for travel, wear your seatbelt, leave a safe distance between you and other vehicles on the roadway, give snow plows adequate room to work, and do not drink and drive. If you are planning on consuming alcoholic beverages, use a designated driver or taxi service. Please travel and celebrate safely. Please do your part to assure that 2014 starts off on a positve note!
