Burglary suspects arrested

On 12/19/2013, Sonoma County Sheriff Office Property Crimes Detectives arrested several people in connection to a rash of residential burglaries. The suspects were targeting vacation rental homes and expensive homes for sale that were staged with furniture. The suspects were stealing TV’s, furniture, dishes, and bedding. All the burglaries were committed in the Northern portion of Sonoma County. The suspects were linked to the following residential burglaries:

On 11/13/2013, there was a residential burglary in the 1100 block of Wikiup Drive in Santa Rosa.

Between 12/09-14/13, there was a residential burglary in the 10500 block of Chalk Hill Road in Windsor.

On 12/16/2013, there was a residential burglary in the 900 block of Chiquita Road in Healdsburg.

Detectives received a tip that Jasmine Marie Roper, Ronni Roxann Stout, and Sarah Tarango were responsible for these burglaries. Detectives learned that Roper had three No Bail warrants out for her arrest related to trespassing, being under the influence of drugs, burglary, and possession of a forged check. On 12/18/2013, Detectives went to Roper’s house and arrested her on her outstanding warrants. Roper was brought to the Sheriff’s Office and interviewed. Roper admitted to committing the three burglaries. Roper, 38 years old, a resident of Santa Rosa, was booked at the Sonoma County jail for her three outstanding warrants, burglary and conspiracy charges. Roper has a No Bail hold status.

Detectives learned that Stout had an outstanding arrest warrant for trespassing and failing to appear in court. On 12/19/2013, at approximately 5:00PM, Detectives went to Stout’s known residence, located in the 1800 block of McMinn Avenue in Santa Rosa. When Detectives arrived they saw a vehicle leave the residence and attempted to stop it for a vehicle code violation. The driver, Patrick James Barsky, fled in his silver Acura Legend. Barsky lead Detectives on a short pursuit through the residential neighborhood. The pursuit reached speeds of approximately 50 MPH in a posted 25 MPH zone. During the pursuit, Barsky ran two stop signs and the pursuit ended when Barsky pulled into a private driveway in the 2100 block of Gardner Avenue. Barsky was placed under arrest and in his possession was an ounce of Methamphetamine. Barsky, 30 years old, a resident of Sebastopol, was booked at the Sonoma County jail for violation of Felony Evading, Driving on a Suspended Driver’s License, Possession and Sales of Methamphetamines, along with an outstanding arrest warrant for disobeying a Court Order. Barsky’s vehicle was impounded due to him driving with a suspended driver’s license. Barsky has a No Bail hold status. Barsky’s passenger, Chelsea Jo Gilliam, 24 years old, a resident of Santa Rosa, was booked at the Sonoma County jail for an outstanding arrest warrant for Bringing Drugs into the Jail. Gilliam has a No Bail hold status.

Detectives went back to Stout’s home and placed her under arrest for her outstanding arrest warrant. Stout had in her possession a Meth pipe and suspected Methamphetamine. Stout, 23 years old, a resident of Santa Rosa, was booked at the Sonoma County jail for violation of Burglary, Conspiracy, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Meth, Possession of a Meth pipe, and her outstanding warrant. Stout’s bail was set at $41,000.

Detectives went to Tarango’s house located in Petaluma. Detectives found Tarango’s white van parked out front and it contained stolen property from two of the residential burglaries. Also, there was damaged to Tarango’s van, which was consistent with damage to a fence at the scene of one of the residential burglaries. Detectives believe Tarango hit the fence after fleeing the scene of the burglary on Wikiup Drive. Tarango’s van was impounded as evidence. Tarango was contacted and interviewed. The case against Tarango, 38 years old, a resident of Petaluma, will be referred to the D.A’s Office for a complaint.
