Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a fourteen-year old female. On Saturday, December 14, 2013 at approximately 10:10 P.M., Deputies responded to a call of a "Gunshot Victim" at Alameda Boulevard and Elm Street in the city of Compton. Upon their arrival, Deputies discovered the victim lying in the street suffering from several gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

According to witnesses, the victim was riding a bicycle when she was shot. The suspect left the scene in an unknown direction. There is no suspect description at this time. The victim is a member of a local street gang and the shooting is believed to be gang related.

The murder weapon and the suspect are still outstanding at this time.

Sheriff's Homicide detectives are en route to the intersection of Elm Street and Tamarind Avenue, Compton, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a female juvenile.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
