Vehicle Pursuit of Shooting Suspects Ends In Fatal Crash In Compton #LASD

Hi SHB Group,

At approximately 12:25 Saturday morning Compton Sheriff’s deputies responded to the call of a shooting at the 100 block of East Indigo Street, Compton. Deputies located witnesses and evidence at the scene. Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a red sedan possibly a Grand Prix.

Additional deputies located a possible suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle stopped. The deputies exited their vehicle and approached on foot when the suspect vehicle drove away. Deputies pursued in their patrol car westbound on Greenleaf Boulevard. The suspect vehicle ran the red light at Wilmington Avenue and struck a woman who was driving northbound on Wilmington. Her vehicle then crashed into a brick wall and a pole. The suspect vehicle rolled over, collided into an iron gate and caught fire.

Compton Fire Department personnel responded, extinguished the fire and rendered aid to the woman and the three suspects, but all were pronounced dead at the scene.
