Wood Co Health Dept has issued a health advisory for Wood County.
The Health Dept has issued an advisory for Wood County regarding Pertussis, aka the Whooping Cough. Early symptoms are cold-like with a mild cough progressing to severe coughing spells. It may include whooping and vomiting, and last about 6 weeks. If left untreated the patient can spread the disease for 2 to 3 weeks.
If symptoms are showing, a Doctors visit is in order. Patients should be isolated until antibiotic treatments are completed.
