Telephone Fraud Warning

The Frankfort Police Department has recently received complaints of telephone scams in the area. A caller will represent themselves as a grandchild or the lawyer representing the victim’s grandchild and claims that the grandchild is in trouble. During these phone calls, the caller has the specific name of the victim’s grandchild. They ask for money to be transferred (wired) or for the victim to buy a payment card of some type to pay for attorney’s fees or bond. Please be aware that these types of scams are going on and get this information out to senior citizens. Make sure to remember that the person calling may have personal information about you and your family. Reminder:

There is no parking on village streets between 8pm-8am when there is 2 inches or more of snowfall. Vehicles left on the road/street may be ticketed and/or towed. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Also remember if you see something suspicious, unusual or out of the ordinary please call the Frankfort Police Department at 815-485-2500 (non-emergency) or 911 if it’s an emergency when you see it.
