LASD Deputy Dave March Memorial Re-Dedication

Forwarded from Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Temple Station:

The memorial dedicated to Deputy Dave March was destroyed on November 28, 2013 in an early morning traffic collision.  The memorial was originally built by the Irwindale Peace Officers’ Association (IPOA) as a tribute to Deputy March following his death.  When the memorial was destroyed, IPOA, without hesitation, took it upon themselves to rebuild the memorial to continue Deputy March’s memory.  The entire memorial was rebuilt within one week due to IPOA’s diligence and commitment.  Temple Sheriff’s Station, as well at the entire Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is forever grateful for IPOA’s initiative.

The Irwindale Police Officers’ Association, in partnership with the Temple Sheriff’s Station and the Irwindale Police Department will be holding a brief re-dedication ceremony for the new memorial on Wednesday, December 11th at 10:00 am at the site of the memorial.

Live Oak Ave will be closed in both directions between Myrtle Ave and Longden Ave between 9:00am – 11:00am.  Parking will be extremely limited so carpooling is highly recommended.  Entrance to the parking area will be at the westbound lanes of Live Oak Ave at Longden Ave.  You will be directed where to park when you arrive.  Please follow the instructions of personnel at the location.  Street closures will be in effect so plan accordingly.
