Possible human remains found in Lake Sonoma
On 12/6/2013 at approximately 1:00 pm, a citizen called the Sheriff’s Office to report that he found possible human bones in Lake Sonoma. The citizen stated he was recreational diving in the area of the Lake Sonoma Bridge, when he saw what he thought to be human remains. He said the remains were in approximately 95 feet of water.
On 12/10/2013 at approximately 8:00 am, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s office along with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team and the Oakland Police Department with an underwater robot started a search for the remains in a recovery effort. The search is continuing at the time of this writing.
