Distraction Type Residential Burglary

A residenct in the 6300 block of Chapmans Road reported a distraction type burglary of a residence on 12/04/13. At approximately 4:50 pm, a clean-shaven Causcasian male, approximately 5'6" with a chubby build and wearing a sweat shirt and grey pants knocked on the door of the home. The male claimed to be a utility worker and wanted to check both the rear of the yard and the water pressure inside the house because he claimed he did some digging in the area.

The male did not display any credentials or show ID and did not specify which utility company he supposedly worked for. After the male looked at the yard, which he requested the home owner to come out of the house with him, and then running some water in the kitchen, the male left the residence in a white box truck. The home owner later discovered cash had been taken from the residence.

Anyone with information is requested to contact the Upper Macungie Township Police Department.
