On December 4^th, 2013, at approximately 4:30 pm; Palmdale deputies arrested Jose Lara, a 55 year old Hispanic male, in the 1800 block of East Palmdale Boulevard.  Lara was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Upon further investigation, Lara was found to be in possession of a several pieces of jewelry, for which he had no reasonable explanation.  Believing the jewelry had been stolen, the deputies recovered the jewelry.

Jose Lara was transported and booked at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station for possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and other charges.  Lara is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.  He is scheduled to be arraigned on December 6^th, 2013 at the Michael D. Antonovich Antelope Valley Courthouse, in Lancaster. 

The recovered jewelry included gold watches, gold and silver chains, and unique rings and pendants.  Several small jewelry boxes were also recovered.

          The jewelry is currently being held at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.  Palmdale Station Detectives are now searching for the owner(s) of the jewelry.  If you, or someone you know, have recently had similar items of jewelry stolen, please contact Detective Ryan Diez at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station at (661) 272-2546.
