Join the Monterey Park Police Department Citizen's Academy! Classes begin January 16, 2014!

The Monterey Park Police Department Citizen's Academy is an exciting, dynamic, and informative course that meets once a week for eleven weeks. It is designed to provide the community with an interactive, hands-on, comprehensive overview of the Monterey Park Police Department and City operations. Classes include an introduction to the Detective Bureau, K-9 Unit, Patrol procedures, and other various department programs.

The next Citizen's Academy class will take place between January 16 and March 27, 2014. Classes are held weekly, on Thursday evenings from 6:15 to 9:00 PM. Participants receive a Certificate of Achievement upon completion of the program.

Applications can be picked up at the Monterey Park Police Department Community Relations Bureau located at 320 W. Newmark Avenue, or mailed upon request, until January 9, 2014. Minimum age of participants is 16 years; minors under the age of 18 must have a signed parental consent form on file. Participants cannot have any felony convictions, must not be on probation or parole, or have any misdemeanor arrest within the past year.
