Palos Verdes 5k and Half Marathon this Saturday November 16th, 2013.
Road closures will begin at 7:00am and will not be lifted until around 11:00am. There will only be one lane open on Palos Verdes Drive South and Palos Verdes Drive West between Hawthorne Boulevard and Peppertree Drive. Groups of vehicles will be escorted through the closure area in alternating directions.
Deputies will be at all intersections along the route to insure runner safety and make an attempt to allow traffic to get into the escort groups. Through traffic as well as neighborhood traffic should expect delays in excess of 30 minutes.
Please avoid the area. If you live in the neighborhoods affected by the road closures, please be patient and follow the instructions of deputies at traffic control points. Again, you may be stopped at an intersection for 30 minutes before deputies are able to allow you to cross.
