On Tuesday, October 30, 2013, deputies of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division arrested and charged Yuri Lara (DOB 06/27/1979) and Karen lizeth Lara (DOB 12/17/1976) with unauthorized practice of medicine and possession of dangerous drug. Photos of both are attached.
Investigators were called after a 41 year-old female was admitted to a local hospital after her breast enhancements became infectious and abscessed. The victim told deputies she had gone to the Lara’s for numerous cosmetic procedures that include body contouring, breast enhancements, liposuction, and fat injections.
Investigators served a search warrant on the Lara's residence located at 15800 Cade Court in northwest Harris County. They recovered several medical equipment devices from the residence believed to have been used in illegal medical procedures. There were also vials of the drug Lidocaine, which they used to numb the patients.
HCSO Investigators believe there may be more patients who used the Lara’s for cosmetic or medical procedures. Additional victims are urged to call the HCSO's Criminal Investigations Bureau at 713-967-5810.
