At approximately 4:45 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013, Fruitport Township Police Department responded to a three-car crash near the area of Airline and Hile in Fruitport Township.
Investigation at the scene revealed a 51-year-old female driver from the Muskegon County area had been traveling westbound on Hile near Airline. The driver made a left turn in front of an eastbound vehicle while the westbound vehicle was attempting to turn in to a parking lot.
The vehicles collided. The collision resulted in both vehicles leaving the roadway and striking a third (occupied) vehicle that was waiting to exit the parking lot.
Through further investigation, it was determined the 51-year-old female driver had consumed alcohol and was intoxicated. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Muskegon County Jail. Records show this driver has one prior alcohol-related driving conviction.
No injuries were reported.
No further information regarding this incident, including the name of the arrested driver, is being released by police at this time.
