Halloween Events in Westmont Oct. 26 Downtown RxR Track Construction Is Complete - Crossing Is Open

October is packed full of fun Halloween Happenings in Westmont! Be sure to mark your calendar and bring out the family as there is fun for all ages to enjoy.

Downtown Westmont
Saturday, Oct. 26
* Put on your Halloween costumes and head to Downtown Westmont on October 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., as local businesses in the downtown area offer treats and goodies to our costumed guests. The Trick or Treat Trail is hosted by the Westmont Chamber of Commerce and is a great opportunity for children to trick or treat in a safe environment. Participating businesses will be clearly marked and offer treats as well as business specials. This event is free and open to the public. Twin Lakes Woods, 200 W. 59th Street
Saturday, Oct. 26
* Bundle up and head to Twin Lakes Woods for the Haunted Forest Tour on Saturday, October 26. Guests will take a haunted hayrack ride through the Twin Lakes Woods. This year’s theme will invite guests to relive their worst nightmares as the narrator spins ghostly tales of bad dreams and more. The entrance to this event is Twin Lakes Park, 200 W. 59th Street in Westmont. Ticket sales will take place from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on location. The fee is $6 per person. Early in the evening, there will be a version of the haunted forest intended for younger audiences. The Merry Monster Matinee will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and will focus on the “fun” of Halloween. Thursday, Oct. 31
* The Westmont Park District has some fun alternatives to raiding your neighborhood for candy at their Fang-Tastic Halloween Party. Taking place at the Westmont Community Center on October 31, families can take part in the Halloween Fun Fair from 5:00 to 7:00pm. This event will feature games, concessions, costume parade and a special Halloween show of fun and horror!

Then, sixth through eighth graders can come to the Westmont Community Center from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. for the Annual Halloween Dance. Costume contest, dancing and prizes - a great place for middle schoolers to enjoy Halloween night. Both of these events are free.

Thursday, Oct. 31
On Halloween night, the Westmont Police Department recommends trick or treating from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. BE SAFE! Be sure to follow typical Halloween safety tips such as wearing reflective clothing, be careful of masks and costumes that can impair your vision or ability to move, be careful when crossing the street, travel with groups, and have a parent check your candy. “We want to make sure that everyone has a safe and happy Halloween,” says Police Chief Tom Mulhearn. “We also urge motorists to drive safe and be mindful of all the pedestrians on Halloween.”
