Arrest Made In Residential Burglaries

On 10/25/2013 at 11:48 p.m. Janesville Police Officers were dispatched to two separate residential burglaries in the 4300 block of Prairie Fox Dr. and Wildrose Way. In one of the burglaries, the suspect made entry to the residence and stole a purse. The homeowner discovered the burglar in the home and the suspect fled on foot. The other burglary was only an attempt and entry was not gained to the home. Officers and a K9 searched the area and could not locate the suspect.

At about 1:50 a.m. officers were sent back to the 4300 block of Prairie Fox Dr. after a third resident called to report a burglary in progress. The homeowner discovered the suspect in the residence and chased him out of the house. The homeowner caught the suspect as he tried to flee and a physical confrontation occurred. The homeowner held the suspect until officers arrived and he was taken into custody. The suspect was identified as Nicholas M. Wuthrich, 21 years of age, from Janesville. Wuthrich is being held at the Rock County Jail.

The arrest of Wuthrich comes after the north side of Janesville has seen a rash of similar burglaries. He may or may not be associated to those burglaries and those investigations continue. The Janesville Police Department is requesting citizens be vigilant in watching their neighborhoods for suspicious activity, securing all valuables and locking all of their doors.
