Lincoln County Deputies arrested 19 year old, Jacob Michael Shinstock, of Troy (Lincoln County), after he failed to appear in court on Arson and Unlawful Possession, Transport, Manufacture illegal weapon charges.
Detectives started investigating an Arson case on April 29, 2013, after being contacted by Troy RIII School District Officials. According to investigators, a rear door of Boone and Lincoln Elementary Schools was burned and the scene contained broken glass, as if struck by a Molotov cocktail.
The investigation led to two suspects, Shinstock and his accomplice 18-year old, Ryan Colbert, of Troy, who both admitted to constructing an incendiary device using beer bottles, gasoline and rags. After testing the device in their neighborhood they walked to Boone and Lincoln Elementary Schools and threw a second incendiary device at a door along the south side of the building.
Both fled after the device ignited and no one was hurt.
Shinstock failed to show for court and a warrant for his arrest was issued. Shinstock was picked up on those charges last night and is currently housed at the Lincoln County Jail under multiple bonds stemming from seven separate arrest warrants.
