West Valley Division is experiencing multiple residential burglaries in which the suspects call the victim’s residence multiple times. If a resident answers the phone, the suspects hang up and call the next house. Once the suspects locate a home in which the residents don’t answer, they smash doors & windows to gain entry to the home. Suspects ransack the victim’s homes and take property.
Suspects are targeting homes in the Tarzana and Encino areas, south of the Ventura Blvd.
It is suggested that you have home phone forwarding service, so calls placed to your home are automatically forwarded to your cell phone.
If you observe suspicious activity which may be linked to these crimes, obtain a description of the
individual(s) physical appearance, actions, and any vehicle descriptions including license plate
numbers and contact the police immediately by calling 911 (emergency) or 877-275-5273 (nonemergency).
Do not confront suspicious individuals.
