Vehicle Burglary Arrest-

On Wednesday, October 16th, 2013 at 9:24 p.m., Riverside Police Department received a phone call of a possible burglary to motor vehicle in progress in the 200 block of Lawton. When officers arrived, the offenders had fled but a witness described them as a group of male white or Hispanics who were riding bikes. Police initially searched the area and were unable to locate any offenders. Approximately 45 minutes later, the police department received another 911 call that five males in dark clothing all on bicycles had just burglarized a vehicle on the 200 block of East Quincy. The witness gave a description and the last known direction of travel. While searching the streets, one of the officers spotted the suspects at the intersection of Herrick and Delaplaine Road. They were immediately taken into custody by Riverside officers.

While searching the individuals, they found two of them had proceeds from two car burglaries in Riverside. Initially, all the suspects were brought into the Riverside Police Department.

Charged with felony burglary to motor vehicle was Macedonio F. Diaz, 18 of the 5000 block of West 30th Place in Cicero. Charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass to motor vehicle was Francisco Alejandre, 22 of the 2000 block of South 58th Avenue in Cicero. Stolen in the burglary to motor vehicles were change, a cell phone and miscellaneous I.D.s. Police did recover all the stolen property.
