At 6:06 p.m. on Wednesday the 16th, Riverside Police Department received a call of an attempted street robbery in progress at the corner of 31st and Des Plaines. When officers arrived, they found a female victim sitting on the parkway with no physical injuries. During the investigation, it was learned that the female victim was on her way to the North Riverside Police Department on an unrelated incident. While she was at the corner of 31st and Des Plaines a male subject, who was the passenger in a Lincoln Navigator black in color, jumped out of the vehicle, ran towards the victim, grabbed her bicep and attempted to steal her purse and cell phone. The victim screamed and ran towards residential homes in the area.

The suspect’s vehicle then made a U turn and fled in a south direction towards 31st and Des Plaines. Its travel from there is unknown.
The vehicle the police are looking for is described as a black Lincoln Navigator SUV, with possibly a Mexican flag hanging from the rear-view mirror.
