On October 14th, 2013 Morgan Hill Officers arrested Marcell West 22 out of Union City and Shazda McCormick 24 out of Union City for passing counterfeit currency at the Target Shopping center located on 1000 block of Cochrane Rd.

On the 14th of October at 1930 hours, Morgan Hill Officers responded to the Target Store on a report a female used a counterfeit 100.00 dollar bill to purchase items. As Officers arrived, they were told Shazda McCormick was seen getting into a white Cadillac and leaving. The vehicle was later located in the same shopping center in front of Staples. Officers contacted an employee of Staples and learned McCormick made a purchase inside Staples using a counterfeit 100.00 dollar bill. McCormick was contacted as she attempted to leave Staples.

Officers located Marcell West sitting inside the white Cadillac outside of Staples. As the investigation unfolded, Officers located 6 additional counterfeit 100.00 dollar bills inside Marcell West’s pants pocket. McCormick and West were later transported to the Santa Clara County Jail and booked.
