A tornado watch is in effect for all of NJ thru 5:00pm

The Morris County Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the TORNADO WATCH/ HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK which has been issued by the National Weather Service for Central, Northern, Northwestern, and Southern New Jersey until 5pm today.

Rain is expected to continue to spread into our region from the southwest and south this afternoon. As temperatures drop during the evening, the rain may change to snow and should end around midnight. Snow may accumulate on roads and walkways creating hazardous conditions.

There is the potential for moderate to heavy rainfall from this afternoon into this evening which could result in flooding in areas of poor drainage. Also scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening hours may be accompanied by strong or severe wind gusts and possibly a tornado.
