The National Weather Service has issued a TORNADO WATCH for Northern New Jersey (Bergen County) - Monday October 7, 2013 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. The Tornado watch area extends from Washington DC to the lower eastern region of New York State.
A cold front producing line of thunder storms will be moving from the east throughout the day.
Current NWS predictions:
A slight chance of showers before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 3pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 78. Breezy, with a south wind 13 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
