On Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 10:04am, Detective Jeff Toll and Deputy Harding attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Ronald Dufrene at a residence in Wrightwood.

When they arrived at the residence, Deputy Harding saw Dufrene run from the residence and up a mountainside. Additional deputies and detectives from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to assist, along with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Departments Aviation Division. While running up the mountainside, Dufrene continued to throw large rocks and boulders at deputies in an attempt to injure them and hold them back.

Deputies from the Aviation Division were able to guide deputies on the ground to the location on the mountainside where Dufrene was hiding. While Detective Toll attempted to handcuff him, Dufrene resisted arrest and started fighting with deputies.

Dufrene was arrested and booked at the Victor Valley Jail for warrants and assault on a peace officer. He is currently out on bail.
