Loma Linda - Mother of 17 week old male is arrested for Attempted Murder

VICTIM: 17 week old male
SUMMARY:
On Monday, September 23, 2013 the Crimes Against Children Detail was contacted by medical staff from the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH) regarding a 17 week old baby boy suspected of being the victim of abuse by his mother, Shira Hart.
The baby was admitted to the LLUCH on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 for having apneic episodes. On several occasions while the mother was visiting, the baby stopped breathing and required resuscitation. The baby was resuscitated and remains admitted at the LLUCH.
Detectives from the Crimes Against Children Detail conducted an investigation and learned that Hart assaulted the baby. She was subsequently arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Attempted Murder. She is being held on one million dollar bail.
