MPD reports residential burglaries in the area of Washington Ave. A suspicious vehicle has been noted in the area.

The Morristown Police Department advises that there have been several residential burglaries reported in the the area of Washington Avenue and Sunset Place within the past few days. All residents are requested to remain vigilant and ensure that all normal crime prevention measures are taken. These steps would include checking that doors and windows are locked and that information is shared with neighbors.

A suspicious vehicle has been observed in the area of these burglaries: The vehicle is described as a:

Silver Honda Civic, 4 Door, with tinted windows, black rims and damage to the rear passenger quarter.

This vehicle is possibly being operated by two Hispanic males, one of whom may have had a beard and one of whom had a pierced lip by his chin.

Please keep in mind that facial hair and piercings can be removed easily.

Anyone who observes suspicious activity in their neighborhood is asked to immediately contact the Morristown Police Department at (973)538-2200. If you observe what you believe is a crime in progress, you should report that through the 911 emergency number.

Residents are also asked to speak to their neighbors to ensure that this information is disseminated to as many people as possible.
