UPDATE TO ABDUCTED FEMALE FROM 09/18/13 JENNIFER LEE BITZEL

As of the early morning hours of September 20th, 2013 Jennifer Lee Bitzel of Peru was located in Rome City Indiana by the Rome City Police Department and is safe. This case remains very active for the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Steven Gail Gose is urged to contact the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department or 911. He should still be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by anyone other than law enforcement.

This investigation has reveled that several individuals have been involved with transporting, hiding , and assisting the suspect in this case. The LaGrange County Prosecutors office would like to remind those that choose to assist the suspect in this case. That they are also committing a crime, and each lead on those that are assisting will be looked into and considered for prosecution accordingly.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department would also like the thank the public and the media for their help in bringing attention to this story. It took less than one hour after the information was sent out to the media and social media before we started receiving calls and tips on this situation.

A further release regarding charges in this case will be made after the prosecutor’s office had had time to review all of the information and makes a formal decision on charges.
