CRITICAL MISSING WOMAN FOUND

The woman reported missing yesterday, identified as 72-year-old Noorieh Manavi-Nameghi, has been found. Ms. Manavi-Nameghi was located a short time ago at a Starbucks in Buena Park. Starbucks employees contacted police requesting they respond to check the well being of a woman who was at their establishment. Buena Park police made contact with Ms. Manavi-Nameghi, determined that she was missing from the City of Long Beach, and contacted LBPD to advise they had located her. She appears to be in good health and family is enroute to Starbucks for reunification.

The Long Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating an elderly woman who suffers from Alzheimer’s, that walked away from her home, located in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Ultimo Avenue.

The missing woman, 72-year-old Noorieh Manavi-Nameghi, was last seen at her home this morning, Sunday, September 15, 2013, at 5:30 a.m., and discovered missing at 10:30 a.m. by family members. At approximately 1:30 p.m. today, relatives reported her missing to police when she didn’t return home.

Family indicated that she suffers from Alzheimer’s and dementia, and has missed her last two cycles of medication. She has only been in the United States for a few years and does not speak English. She has walked away from her home on a previous occasion, and was clipped by a vehicle when she wandered onto the 405 Freeway.

Clothing: Black jacket, blue pants, brown Sketcher type shoes

The Long Beach Police Department continues to search for the victim. Local hospitals have been alerted and area law enforcement and public transportation agencies have also been notified.
