On September 10, 2013, at 3:00 am Morgan Hill Officers were dispatched to 19000 block of Cheyenne Ct for a report of a suspicious person. Officers arrested Erik Gonzales, 36, out of San Jose for possession of stolen mail and possession of a stolen vehicle.

The citizen stated they observed the suspect taking mail out of mailboxes and putting it in an orange Mitsubishi convertible. Morgan Hill Officers arrived in the area and located the orange Mitsubishi, with paper dealership plates. Officers approached the vehicle and located Gonzales inside the vehicle. Gonzales’ car was filled with stolen mail from near by houses—in fact the vehicle he was sitting in was also stolen out of San Jose. Gonzales was later booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
