Narrative:
At about 6:00 a.m. on 9/10/13, deputies responded to a call of an assault in the 1800 block of Daily Drive. A female victim had been jogging in the area when a male suspect approached her from behind, grabbed her buttocks, and pulled her to the ground. The victim struggled and screamed for help. The suspect then let go of the victim and ran east toward Murray Avenue.
The victim received minor injuries during the incident, but did not require medical attention.

The suspect was described as a dark-complexion Hispanic male, about 5’7” tall, with short dark curly hair. He was wearing a dark colored beanie, gray sweatshirt or jacket, and dark pants.
Witnesses in the area reported seeing a similarly described subject in the area prior to the assault.

The Camarillo Police Department is requesting witnesses who saw anyone matching the suspect’s description in the area of the incident to contact Detective Christine Rettura at
805-384-4741.

Though this is an unusual occurrence, the Camarillo Police Department encourages citizens to take extra precautions when walking alone, especially during the hours of darkness.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will also pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this crime. The caller may remain anonymous. The call is not recorded. Call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
