On 9/9/2013, at approximately 1208 hours, MHPD officers located a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of 16505 Condit Rd, the Executive Inn, in Morgan Hill. After a short surveillance, a male subject entered the vehicle and backed it into another parking space. Officers contacted the subject, later identified as 26 year old George Haro out of San Jose. Officers were advised by dispatch Haro had an active felony "parolee at large" warrant. Haro was detained without incident. Another male subject, identified as 28 year old Steven Spille out of Santa Cruz, had fled the scene when officers arrived at the hotel. Spille was later detained by officers a short distance away on Condit Rd. as he attempted to destroy drug paraphernalia. A female subject, later identified as 25 year old Staci Potter out of San Jose, was located in an associated hotel room near the stolen vehicle. During the investigation, officers located a large amount of counterfeit US currency in the female's property. All three subjects were under the influence of a controlled substance and transported to MHPD for booking. It was later learned that Spille and Potter were associated to similar criminal activity in neighboring counties.

This case would not have been solved and property recovered as quickly if it wasn't for the assistance and willingness of our community to get involved and report suspicious activity. Together we have solved yet another crime as a result of our strong partnership.
