San Bernardino County Movement Against Street Hoodlums (S.M.A.S.H.) Operation - 85 suspects arrested for various crimes

INCIDENT: San Bernardino County Movement Against Street Hoodlums (S.M.A.S.H.)
LOCATION: Unincorporated areas of San Bernardino and Colton including Arrowhead Farms, Muscoy, Devore and the city of Loma Linda

SUMMARY:
In an on-going effort to suppress gang criminal activity in our County, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in conjunction with the following agencies conducted a joint operation on Friday, September 6, 2013:

Barstow Police Department
Rialto Police Department
Colton Police Department
San Bernardino District Attorney’s Office
Fontana Police Department
San Bernardino Probation Department
Montclair Police Department
San Bernardino Police Department
Redlands Police Department
Upland Police Department

The patrol areas consisted of the unincorporated areas of San Bernardino, Colton and included the communities of Devore, Muscoy and Arrowhead Farms. The San Manuel Casino Impact area and the city of Loma Linda.

The officers conducted over 400 car stops and subject checks resulting in the arrest of 85 suspects for various charges. The arrests consisted of outstanding warrants, probation violations, parole violation and possession of illegal drugs. Four suspects were arrested for carrying loaded/concealed and/or stolen weapons. During a probation search at a residence in San Bernardino a pipe bomb was found and the incident turned over to San Bernardino Sheriff’s Arson/Bomb detail.
