Juvenile Reports Suspicious Subject on Bike

On Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 7:53 PM in the area of Delaplaine Rd & Burlington St (3200 S. Harlem Av), we took a report of child luring.

A 14 year old female was walking east on Burlington Street near Harlem Avenue and was approached by a male Hispanic between20-30 years of age with dark colored hair wearing a red t-shirt and athletic shorts.

The subject was riding a mountain type bike and asked the young female if she knew a pizza joint in the area. The female responded that she didn't and continued walking. The subject left going westbound on Burlington Street.

A few minutes later, the same subject returned to where the young female was walking and said to her, "Hey you’re pretty cute." The female ignored his comments and the subject fled the area going westbound on Burlington Street

This was not a school related incident as the suspicious activity took place at 7:53 PM and was not associated with any school activity. However, due to the fact that the victim in this case was a school aged juvenile, the Riverside Police Department believes that parents, students and staff of Riverside area schools should have this information for safety proposes.
