Looking for Witnesses to a Bias Motivated Crime
The Sacramento Police Department needs the community’s assistance in gathering information that may lead to identifying a group of suspects that attacked two men.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 17, 2013, two victims were walking through a parking lot at 19th and J Streets when they encountered a group of five men. The five men, unprovoked, assaulted the victims while shouting anti-gay slurs. One of the victims sustained significant facial injuries in the assault.

The suspects have been described as three Hispanic and two black males. They were seen leaving the area in a light colored, older model, four door vehicle.

Officers and detectives have been working the case since the incident was reported. The Sacramento Police Department has also been working in partnership with representatives of the Sacramento LGBT Community Center regarding this case. Together we are asking for the community’s help in solving this bias motivated crime in our community.

The Felony Assault Unit is seeking the public’s help in identifying these suspects. If you witnessed the assault or have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Sacramento Police Department at (916) 264-5471 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
