Montgomery County Man Charged With 15 Felonies

Crawfordsville-A Crawfordsville man has turned himself into the Montgomery County Jail today and booked on 15 felony charges of theft and forgery resulting from an investigation that started earlier this summer.

Indiana State Police Criminal Investigative Division Sergeant Bryan Harper assigned out of the Lafayette Post has revealed that Timothy M. Bristol, 43 years old from Crawfordsville has been stealing monies from the Ahead Coalition, Pam’s Promise and Community Unity which all organizations were out of the Crawfordsville area. Approximately $30,000.00 has been taken from the three entities over the course of about one year.

The forgery cases have stemmed from Bristol forging the signatures of Crawfordsville Mayor Todd Barton and City Clerk Terri Gadd on an Executive Order dated August of 2012 to receive grant money that the Crawfordsville Community was making progress in its anti smoking campaigns. Bristol also admitted to forging names on other documents to further assist in obtaining money for his own personal use.

Bristol turned himself in at approximately noon today on three counts of Theft a Class D Felony and twelve counts of Forgery a Class D Felony. Bond was set at $30,000.00 USC or $5,000.00 surety bond.

Assisting in the case was the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. A picture may be obtained by contacting the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department.
