Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man and the wounding of three other adults that occurred near Avenue Q-6 and Lilac View Avenue, Palmdale.

The deceased victim has been identified as Dean Joseph Klein, 32, a resident of Palmdale. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Two other male victims, ages 21 and 30, were treated for gunshot wounds at the hospital and released.

The female victim, 23, was also treated for a gunshot wound and released.

A fifth victim, a 27 year old male, was uninjured in the shooting.

The incident occurred when suspects walked up to a garage where the victims were spending time with each other. A confrontation ensued and the suspects opened fire, mortally injuring one victim and wounding three others, before running to a car and fleeing the scene.

Homicide investigators have determined that this shooting was gang-related.

Sun,1:30am: Shooting Death Investigation, Ave. Q 6 & Lilac View Av, Palmdale #LASD Homicide

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives responded to Avenue Q 6 and Lilac View Avenue, Palmdale, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man and the wounding of three other adults at about 1:30AM, Sunday, August 25, 2013.

All victims were transported to a local hospital where one victim was pronounced dead. The condition of the other victims is unknown at this time.
